Tree & Park Bench Dedications

Plant a tree or order a dedicated park bench in honor of and in memory of special individuals, couples and groups. A tree or park bench is a wonderful way to remember someone you love or give as a birthday, anniversary or graduation gift. Pricing and Add-Ons

In Ground Plaques – included with tree cost
Wall plaque – optional add-on with park bench cost
Walnut Grain Plaque – 5 x 7 inches for your home as a remembrance of the occasion

Locations and Tree Types

Trees can be planted at any Gurnee Park District park location
Orders must be placed each year by July 1
Tree types:
- Shade – Hybrid Elm, Hackberry, Honeylocust, Ginkgo, Kentucky Coffeetree, Linden, Maple, Oak
- Ornamental – Serviceberry (Single or Multi Stem), Japanese Tree Lilac, River Birch, Flowering Pear
- Evergreen – Eastern White Pine, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, Dawn Redwood (deciduous)

Important Dates

July 1 – all applications must be submitted to be a part of the annual dedication by this date.
Dedications are typically held on the first Sunday in October each year. Donors will receive a formal invitation to attend.
