Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Hunt Club Park Community Center Preschool Playground
It was a beautiful day for a BIG reveal! Thank you to Gurnee Park District’s Board of Commissioners and staff, @senaljohnson, @repjoycemason, @villageofgurnee Mayor Tom Hood, Growing Tree Preschool students and parents, as well as other community members, who all came together to unveil the newly completed playground at Hunt Club Park Community Center.
Special thanks to Senator Adriane Johnson and State Representative Joyce Mason for providing a grant of $950,000, a portion of which was used to help with building efforts.
Highlights of the new playground include a concrete tricycle track around the exterior of the playground (affectionately named, “McDougle Way” in honor of recently retired Growing Tree Preschool Manager of 24 years, Sue McDougle), large shade structures, and an expanded turf for mud-free play.
Hard hats off to our Director of Parks and Planning, Kraig Owens, and the rest of our Parks Team for all of their hard work!
Thank you to all who were able to attend. We appreciate all of your support and hard work, and look forward to more FUN to come!
