"For the last five years, Mike has served the community of Wauwatosa as their Director of Recreation. His hard work did not go unnoticed as he spear headed the implementation of a new registration process, launched a new three-year-old preschool program, Tosa Tots, ran operations for the Hart Park Senior Center, and co-created a wheelchair basketball league," shared Executive Director, Susie Kuruvilla. "We're so happy to welcome Mike to the Gurnee Park District team," Kuruvilla continued.

Sports were always a part of Wick's childhood in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. After high school, Wick attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, graduating with a degree in sports management. During that time, he continued to share is passion as a coach at summer sports camps and intern with the La Crosse Loggers Baseball Club.
After college graduation, his career began as a Recreation Specialist for Youth Athletics at Lake County's Waukegan Park District, continuing with Elk Grove Park District, also in Athletics. Prior to starting with Gurnee Park District this winter, Wick was the city of Wauwatosa's Recreation Director.
As the new Director of Recreation, Wick is excited to be back in the Park District setting! "There is tremendous pride shown by the members of this community as well as my new teammates who share a vision of community success," expressed Wick.
From beautiful parks, to first class recreation facilities, to top programming, Wick shared that there are a number of opportunities available to engage, grow and stay active throughout Gurnee."I'm looking forward to building upon the tremendous foundation already in place," concluded Wick.
When not working, Wick enjoys sharing time with his wife and two daughters. He also cheers for his Wisconsin teams including the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Green Bay Packers.
