Learn a few benefits of playing youth soccer this fall!
Exercise
Soccer provides two days of active, outside play. Seeing our players leave happy and tired from a good practice is always a welcome sight. Soccer is a great sport for developing cardio, coordination and endurance.
Teamwork
Being part of a team helps players learn to work together toward a common goal. It also teaches youth athletes to work with others.
Socialization
Being on a soccer team introduces athletes to new people, giving them the opportunity to meet new friends. Being able to adapt and become comfortable in new settings also helps players build confidence and self-esteem.
Fun
It sounds cliché, but at the end of the day that is what we want for our youth soccer players. If they are having fun, then they are more likely to stick with sports and continue an active lifestyle.
Gurnee Park District players work and compete and then leave laughing and smiling with their coaches, teammates and even friends on opposing teams.
Variety
In today's culture of youth sports, many athletes begin to specialize in one sport at a very young age. Playing multiple sports can help children improve hand/eye coordination, overall endurance and muscle development. It also helps our young athletes reset mentally and focus on a new athletic challenge and task.
