Joe is a NCSF certified personal trainer that has had a passion for fitness his whole life. Competing in many different sports he understands fitness takes on many forms. He specializes in functional training, suspension training, bodyweight training, and kettle bells. As a personal trainer and military member he understands the importance of physical readiness in our daily lives, and will motivate you to reach your fitness goals. He also has a BS in Business Administration from Robert Morris College and is perusing a sports nutrition certification.

Her areas of specialty include strength and conditioning, circuit and interval training, functional training, and working with clients following discharge from physical therapy. As a former collegiate basketball player and high school coach, Rachel’ s experiences have allowed her to find unique ways to train and motivate clients from all walks of life- from the elite athlete to the beginning exerciser. Rachel currently also works for United Hospital System’s Physical Therapy Department where she heads an AfterCare program and instructs a Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) program for patients with the disease and other neurological disorders. Her training philosophy incorporates the “work smarter, not harder” motto and she believes personal training should always be fun and tailored to the specific needs/goals of a client.

Jacki has been a long time athlete and has activity competed in running, triathlon, and cycling events since 2004. She believes that fitness should never be taken for granted and should remain a lifetime pursuit. Jacki’s fitness approach involves a combination of strength and cardiovascular exercises. She will safely motivate and inspire you to attain your fitness goals. When she is not teaching group exercise classes or personal training, she enjoys being the biggest fan of her three active kids.

Erica is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine as well as a certified Zumba®, Flirty Girl®, TRX®, PIloxing® and AFAA Group Exercise instructor. She believes fitness is for everyone and an important part of a balanced lifestyle. Erica was involved in dance and sports from a young age. She earned a BFA from The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago in Graphic Design. She found a new passion in fitness about five years ago and loves to share the knowledge she has gained.

Her background in Sports Performance Training goes back to when she was a standout Track and Field Collegiate athlete, who specialized in hurdles and competed in the heptathlon. Donna is highly motivated to help others reach their health and fitness goals and promotes activities and coping methods that transform unhealthy habits and fuel healthy minds and bodies.

Being involved in sports, inspired me to take it to the next level and share my passion to inspire others. My specialties include strengthening, flexibility and increasing core strength making my clients more stable and mobile.  Using hand weights, body resistance, resistance bands, and TRX are some of her training techniques. Researching new ideas and creating new exercises that are specific to my clients’ needs are part of her growth in fitness. Training today’s youth to excel in their sports to be better, stronger and more mobile athletes. She also has her BA in Education from St. Mary’s College in Minnesota and has taught in the classroom for many years.

Kerry is an ACSM certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach with a degree in Health and Wellness from the College of Lake County. She enjoys working with her clients to find a workout routine that is effective and enjoyable. As a busy mom, she values every opportunity to incorporate exercise into the day and strives to offer training that is efficient and easy to achieve despite her clients’ varied time commitments. Kerry believes that fitness and health is a lifelong commitment and she continue to take courses that will help her to be a better trainer and motivator.

Mary is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach, as well as a Mad Dogg certified Spin/cycling instructor. Her areas of specialty are strength & core training with an emphasis on endurance sports, specifically long distance running. Mary herself is an avid runner and has completed three marathons, and participates in road races on a regular basis. In that vein, she doesn’t mind joining clients on the track/treadmill for long runs or shorter sprints. Her motto is that exercise can be fun and doesn’t have to feel like a chore and that sometimes a friendly voice saying ‘you can do it’ can make all the difference. Clients’ workouts are varied and dynamic, often interspersing bursts of cardio with strength training circuits.

Alex graduated Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and is an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and also holds a USAW Sports Performance Coach Level 1 certification.  He specializes in sport and functional training as well as special populations and post physical therapy recovery.  Alex’s fitness background stems from his many years as an athlete and his many years of physical therapy recovering from multiple back surgeries.  His passion is to educate on proper exercise form and expose people to new types of training.  Whether you are exercising for the first time or are a seasoned athlete, you are sure to get a great workout.

Highly knowledgeable in muscle activation and posture alignment, she has a passion for helping people develop a positive mindset, increase functional strength and cardiovascular fitness, improve mobility and balance, and be pain free. Debra works with clients of all ages and fitness levels. She believes regaining and improving one's physical fitness - is simply a means to an end... She will challenge you in your training so you can fully participate in your life - whether that be hiking, biking, swimming, mud runs, gardening, playing with kids & grandkids, and various other endeavors outside of the gym.

Scott loves working with athletes and anybody who wants to reach their fitness goals through hard work and determination. He believes that everybody has different fitness needs and goals and by receiving unique, personalized training. Scott’s expertise is athletic and functional training, with an emphasis in strength and conditioning. His goal is to help anyone, from a fitness beginner to a seasoned athlete, reach their goals and prepare for a happier and healthier future.


FitNation offers a wide variety of group training classes to increase your physical fitness regimen. These programs build on skills learned each week to advance and improve workouts and are different then normal group exercise classes. With defined start and end dates these programs are a great way to commit to a workout program.

Due to the learning and skill building nature of these classes, specialized group training programs are customized to the group enrolled in the program and require a fee separate from the monthly dues. With each class you will have the chance to interact with the instructor and get one on one training tips.

PLEASE NOTE: All specialized group training classes require pre-registration. Some classes require registration two weeks before class time while others have prorated costs if joining in the middle of a program. Please see the front desk for information.

Registration for these classes is handled through the registration system of Gurnee Park District. To sign up for one of these classes you can follow the registration links below. If you are new to the system you will be prompted to create a new household.

Yoga Training
Yoga is an excellent exercise for people of all ages. FitNation offers yoga programs for beginner, children and advanced students.

Senior Fit
This class will guide you through a series or exercises that will help increase mobility and flexibility. Each class includes a warm-up, stretching, strength exercises, some cardio and a cool-down to help relieve the muscles. Participation is not restricted to those with arthritis, but to anyone looking for a great new workout in their senior years. Instructed by Dianne Daluga, Certified Arthritis Foundation Instructor.
