DESCRIPTION:Having hope is that “bridge” until we get to the other side. As we peer 3-bridges down the road setting intentions for part two of 2026\, we must act (strategies) and not just sit in hope. Smashing negative thoughts\, knowing our strengths\, using humor\, trying something new\, and having emotional self-control are just some of the techniques we will learn. \nRecalibrating for summer can be very motivating for kids. To dramatize the concept of hope\, growth\, and fun we will engineer a Hershey’s decked out Truss or Suspension candy bridge while we learn about the world’s most decadent bridges\, even one with a Ferris Wheel on it! \nKids will experience a hurricane dramatization that will blow through the room to be sure their bridge is structurally sound! Once you enter Independence Grove\, go to the LEFT and head all the way to the end for parking. Note\, they may check your ID at the gate. Entry is free for Lake County residents\, but you will need your ID to show you live in Lake County. Pets are not allowed at Independence Grove. Much of the trail will be protected from the wind by trees. Some hills\, but mostly flat. Gravel trail. We’ll meet there. Mostly gravel with a small bit paved. 3 options platted. Start to Grand Avenue = 1 mile (2-mile round trip). Start to Rollins = 2.5 miles (5-mile round trip). For those really adventurous\, under Rollins is the back side of Rollins Savannah and there is a 1-mile loop you can also take (6 miles total). Mostly flat. Pets allowed. Only about half is shaded.
