Home to the Gowe Beach slide, Chittenden Park’s playground will start construction this fiscal year.  Features will include a new 5 to 12 year old play structure, rock climbing wall, rope obstacle course, and taller twisty slides. Don’t worry, the Gowe Beach slide will keep it’s residency at the park too!

Estimated start: Summer 2019 | Estimated completion: late spring 2020

Originally built in 2000, Providence Park’s playground will be updated with ADA pathway and equipment as well as new engineered wood fiber surfacing. Other features will include faster, updated slides, new swings and an array of fun and challenging climbers.

The new, state of the art maintenance building will replace a 40 year old pole barn and non-heated dirt floor storage facility. The new facility will include laundry area, woodshop and ample storage. From athletic field upkeep to park beautification, the parks department continues to preserve nature, and maintain the beauty of Gurnee parks.
