Volunteers Make a Difference
Volunteers are vital to most of the programs we offer - staffing special events, coaching youth sports, serving lunch to our seniors, assisting with crafts and science projects, keeping our parks beautiful - these are some of the many ways volunteers help the Gurnee Park District. And yes, they really do make a difference! Enhance your life while helping others. Persons ages 12 and older are encouraged to get involved by volunteering. Currently, we are in need of the following types of volunteers.
Special Events Assistants
Volunteers are needed to serve in many capacities during special events. You may volunteer to decorate, help with food preparation, assist with crafts and games or welcome people at the door.
Athletic Coaches
Be a role model for the youth in our community by volunteering to coach a team for the Gurnee Park District. We are asking for an hour and a half commitment during the week and one hour commitment during the weekend. Experience in the sport is not necessary. We will provide sport specific training to set you and your team up for success.
Friends of the Gurnee Park District
The Friends of the Gurnee Park District is a group of volunteers that help promote community involvement and family fun. The group provides and stimulates increased awareness and participation.
