The Farmers' Market is back with unique vendors and including new and past favorites.The Market is a thriving cultural marketplace where vendors sell their homespun, organic or one-of-a-kind foods, crafts and produce.
The Farmers' Market will open this June with unique vendors and will continue to host a number of special events each week including free children’s crafts, live entertainment and more.

Student Art Exhibit
May 18 - June 22 ~ Viking Park Community Center
Students in several of our painting classes will exhibit their artwork on the walls at Viking Park Community Center. A reception will be held on Friday, May 18 from 5:00-8:00pm in the Viking Park Dance Hall.

All concerts are free to the public and will take place at the Viking Park Bandshell located at 4374 Old Grand Ave.

Viking Park Singers Presents: A Musical Tour of the U.S.
Sunday, June 24 ~ 3:00pm ~ Viking Park Dance Hall ~ Free
The Viking Park Singers will be singing their way around the country and invite you to come along! Our singers will be your tour guides as they serenade you with songs written about our great states, cities, streets, rivers and all things unique to our great country.
Refreshments will be served after the performance.
Rec Mobile
The Rec-Mobile is a FREE traveling recreation program geared for children ages kindergarten through 5th grade. The program will travel to community parks bringing games, sports, arts and crafts, organized and free play to our parks. Activities are supervised by GPD staff, but parent/guardian attendance is encouraged. No registration necessary. All events take place from 6:30-8:30pm and are subject to cancellation based on weather.

GPD Great American Family Campout
Friday, July 27 ~ Saturday, July 28 ~ Viking Park
Join us for a night under the stars with set up beginning at 6:00pm on Friday. Bring your tent and enjoy outdoor games and activities, dinner a campfire and a family movie to round out the night! Wake up and enjoy a light breakfast. Clean up concludes at 7:30am on Saturday.
Registration is required. This event is for all ages and parents must stay overnight with children. ID # 116903-01 $25/31 per family up to 6 people.
10th Annual Fishing Derby
Saturday ~ July 14 ~ 8:30-11:00am ~ Hunt Club Park ~ 900 N. Hunt Club Rd.
Children ages 5-11 yrs. grab your poles and join us at the lake! Bail will be provided as well as a limited amount of fishing poles.
Prizes will be awarded for the most caught, biggest and smallest fish and most unusual catch! Free to the public.
Toddler Olympics

Celebrate the Olympics with the Gurnee Park District! Bring your toddler out to "compete" in a variety of pint-size Olympic events. Each child will receive a medal and lunch after "competition".
Old-Fashion Ice Cream Eating Contest
