MLS Soccer Camps

MLS Camps, a division of North American Sports Camps, Inc., presents a soccer training program at the Gurnee Park District this summer. All licensed coaches possess both expertise in soccer and the ability to communicate educational philosophies. Players must bring their own shin guards and water bottle. Contracted through MLS

For 5-6 year-olds: Children will be introduced to soccer and given the skills they need to have fun and find success in the game. Coaches will challenge each child at his or her own level of ability. Sessions are 1.5 hours long.

For 7-9 year-olds: Technique is the focus of this soccer program instructed by professionals from MLS.

For 10-12 year-olds: This program is for players looking for skill and functional training. Positional play is coached and informal scrimmages may be played. Every camper receives an individual evaluation prepared by their camp coach with suggestions on how to improve as a player.


Skyhawks Summer Camps for Boys and Girls

These camps offer a variety of fun sports. Besides learning the basics, kids will also have fun!

Mini-Hawk Multi-Sport Camp Mini-Hawk is an introductory program for young children, which explores soccer, baseball and basketball in a “no pressure” setting. Young athletes will have fun as they participate in sports through unique Skyhawks games. Mini-Hawk coaches are trained to meet the special needs of young children. Staff is committed to helping children start off on the right foot, as they take their first steps into athletics. Kids must bring two snacks, water bottle, appropriate shoes and sunscreen. Kids will receive a shirt and a merit certificate.

Basketball Camp Beginning and intermediate players (ages 7-14 years) will learn new skills while building on fundamentals. Campers will have fun while refining their passing, shooting, and dribbling skills. At the end of the week, participants will play a tournament to put their new skills to a test. Kids will receive a shirt and a merit certificate. Contracted through Skyhawks.

Tiny-Hawk Multi-Sport Camp
Children will fine-tune their motor skills in soccer, basketball and t-ball. There’s no pressure, just lots of fun while these tiny athletes learn the basics through unique Skyhawks games. Tiny-Hawk coaches are trained to meet the special needs of young children. Staff is committed to creating a positive introduction to sports. Children must be pottytrained to attend. Pull-ups are not allowed. Kids must bring a water bottle, appropriate shoes and sunscreen. Kids will receive a shirt and a merit certificate.

Beginning “S.N.A.G.” Golf Camp
Here’s a great way for kids to learn the basics of golf. Skyhawks will combine the S.N.A.G. Starting New at Golf) coaching system and equipment with their flair for safe and fun sports
instruction. Instead of swinging and missing a traditional golf ball, our golfers will experience success using larger, softer S.N.A.G. balls that are safer and easier to hit. Please do not bring your own bring clubs. Kids must bring two snacks, water bottle, appropriate shoes and
sunscreen. Kids will receive a shirt and a merit certificate.

New!Pre-K “S.N.A.G.” Golf
Skyhawks will be using the SNAG Coaching System, a new system for training beginning golfers
using the most fun golf equipment around. Skyhawks will provide launchers and rollers designed with larger heads and greater hitting surfaces that make it easier to hit the ball while learning proper swing techniques. Please do not bring your own clubs. Emphasis is on fun, participation and safety.This is a very fundamental golf camp. Kids will receive a shirt anda merit certificate.


Skyhawks Recreation Camp Soccer, Baseball & Basketball
Skyhawks Recreation is meant for the athlete who wants to do a little bit of everything! This program is designed for participants who want to have fun playing games in various sports such as Baseball,Basketball, Soccer, Flag football and Softball. This no pressure full day program will incorporate some of the basic fundamentals of each sport but are mainly designed forthe active child to just get out there and play. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

Flag Football Camp
This introduction to football, a sport rich in tradition, is safe and fun because it’s flag football. Players learn valuable skills like catching, passing, and deflagging,as well as rules and strategies of offense and defense. Kids will receive a shirt and a merit certificate.


Bull's Basketball Camp

Chicago Bulls coaches not only teach the game, they understand the value of discipline, respect and teamwork. This camp covers all aspects of the game including ball handling, shooting, passing, defense and rebounding with a heavy emphasis on team play. The curriculum maximizes the exposure of each child to skills and drills that will best advance his or her level of play. Offered for youths ages 6-14 years.


Doogie and Mac's Soccer Camps

These camps are designed to help the kids have fun while playing soccer, improving individual skills and providing tactical training. It will be a great time for all. Tshirt and ball will be provided for all camp participants. Doogie has played professional soccer in 5 different countries and is currently the assistant coach at Warren Township High School. He has worked with many clubs in northern Illinois and currently trains the Warren Blazer teams. Mac is currently the head coach for the boys soccer team at Warren Township High School. He has played college soccer and has coached for 14 years. He was named sectional coach of the year twice and was a finalist for the State Coach of the Year in 1999. Doogie’s Munchkin Soccer (Age 4-5 yrs.) Learn to play soccer while having fun and playing games with Doogie.

Development Soccer (Age 6-8 yrs.)
This 2-hour camp is used to build skills and develop confidence with the ball.

Advanced Soccer (Age 9-11 yrs.)
This 2-hour camp works to further develop players on technical and tactical soccer.


Lacrosse America Camp

Lacrosse the “fastest sport on two feet” combines the best attributes of basketball, hockey, and soccer. Lacrosse America directors and experienced staff will instruct campers in stick handling, dodging, passing, shooting, offense and defense, while emphasizing skill development and sportsmanship. Individual and game situation drills will progress into competitive scrimmages. Players are grouped according to age and skill. Girl’s lacrosse is played without pads; therefore, the boys and girls will be separated with their own instructors. Free loaner equipment will be available at the field, and hockey equipment can be used as well. Participants should bring a water bottle. All campers receive a t-shirt. Lacrosse camp is offered for boys and girls in grades 3-9. Contracted through Lacrosse America and Warren Area Lacrosse Association.


White Sox Training Center Camp

White Sox Training Centers are a grass roots approach to nurturing a lifelong love for the greatest game on the face of the earth. These are not daycare camps. Young players who are interested in improving their skills will be given a chance to learn basic and advanced baseball skills from some of the most gifted teachers in the game. White Sox Training Centers will be taught by the best in the business; primarily collegiate coaches, ex-professional players, high school coaches, and full time private instructors. All campers for all camps are required to bring a glove, long pants (sweat pants or baseball pants), rubber baseball spikes and a water bottle. Each camper will receive a White Sox Training Center Hat, T-Shirt and Six Ticket Vouchers to a White Sox Game (Items are Subject to Change).

White Sox Training Center Camp (STC1) More than 50,000 youth baseball players have attended one of our Training Centers to focus on essential individual aspects of baseball including: throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching and base-running. Throughout the week, teachings will be reinforced by using fun skill games. On the final day, all players will get the opportunity to judge their improvement by playing a game. For ages 7-8 years.

White Sox Little Sluggers Camp
This camp introduces kids to baseball. In addition to focusing on the basics of the game, players will also learn that practice leads to improvement and the best way to have more fun playing baseball.

White Sox Advanced Camp Attention players! This Advanced Camp from the White Sox is just for you. You have special, more advanced needs, and the Advanced Camp is just the ticket to prepare you for trying out for a travel team someday. This camp’s emphasis will build on the STC 1 camp’s basics. Depending on the skill level of the campers, this camp will touch on advanced hitting and throwing techniques, as well as team play, advanced base running and other techniques that you can use in that night’s ball game. Just because you are in-season doesn’t mean that you can stop learning the game. Learn it today, use it tonight! Requirements: Players must be ages 9-12 and have completed STC 1 camp.


Challenger British Soccer Camp

British Soccer, a division of Challenger Sports Corporation, teaches boys and girls valuable fundamentals, teamwork, self-discipline and sportsmanship. Players should bring their own shin guards and water bottle. Contracted through British Soccer. For ages 3-14 years.

First Kicks: This friendly introduction to soccer teaches the basics through games, stories and fun.

Minisoccer: Basic technical practices, fun small sided games will be played.

Player Development Camp: Individual skill development, mastery of core techniques and fundamental tactical awareness will be emphasized.


The Volleyball Professionals

The Volleyball Professionals primary aim is to teach volleyball to youth using the Volleyball Pros lesson plan while enhancing students’ skills. This makes the game enjoyable, and challenges them to experience the next level of volleyball, all resulting in students saying “I love volleyball and I want to learn more.” All students will receive a 6-point evaluation and a youth volleyball rating.

Beach Volleyball Camps It’s time to take your volleyball game to the beach. Camps hosted by the Volleyball Professionals feature all the latest drills and training techniques that build your skills for the next level. We’ll have lots of contests and games, too, with fun and active instructors! The camp will concentrate on the fundamentals of passing, setting, serving, and spiking. You will learn to overhand serve and play organized games. The lesson plan directs individual training that helps each student reach a new level. Cancelled classes are made up on Friday. For youth entering grades 3-8. Contracted through Volleyball Professionals.

Indoor Volleyball Camps Come indoors for this special camp session. Camp will concentrate on the fundamentals of passing, setting, and spiking. The lesson plan directs the use of self mastery training that helps each student reach a new level. The knowledge of the instructors will give the participants a head start on their skills in preparation for the next upcoming volleyball season. Contracted through Volleyball Professionals.
