Develop your child’s intellect through learning how to play chess. This class is contracted through Chess Scholars. Classes consist of a fun interactive teaching period and a guided practice time. Both new and returning participants are welcome and will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach.

Magic Classes are contracted through the Magic Team of Gary Kantor. Each session offers new tricks to learn and while tricks may appear difficult, participants willdiscover that they are quick to learn and sure to puzzle family and friends.

Promising Picassos is a company offering children's art programs through a partnership with the Gurnee Park District. Their goal is to provide highly informative instructional art classes, emphasizing a "how-to" approach to each lesson, while allowing a personal level of creative expression for each student. Past class offerings included: Basic Drawing, Pixar Pictures and Pastel Drawing.

Through a partnership with Clay Monet, the Gurnee Park District is able to offer a variety of programs that allow youths to create their one of kind ceramic pieces. Classes change seasonally and are great way for boys and girls to create keepsakes for friends and relatives.

Working in teams, you’ll add sound effects and music clips to create a dynamic video animation game using software created just for kids. Afterward, you can post your game online so that your friends, your parents, even your grandmother can play your video game! Creativity rules in this fun version of video game design!
