The Viking Park Dance Hall is a restored historic building dating back to 1911. This beautiful and unique venue combined with modern amenities is sure to be the perfect compliment to your event! Our kitchen is available for use and features a triple sink system, six-burner stove with griddle top, convection and standard oven with broiler, microwave and commercial refrigerator. Also available is the use of our wet bar which includes an automatic ice machine, refrigerator, ice sink & kegerator.
The Dance Hall measures 60' x 50' and can comfortably seat 160 guests, with a beautiful wooden dance floor.
Every rental includes use of our 8' banquet & 60" round tables and white padded chairs. Coffee urns, coffee carafes, and water pitchers can be rented with a small refundable deposit. Liquor may be served or sold with required insurance and permits.
The Summer Kitchen may be rented April 15 - November 2 in conjunction with the Dance Hall to host an outdoor wedding ceremony with cocktail hour. Our tree-lined park provides a beautiful outdoor space for your special occasion with gorgeous photo opportunities. The Viking Park Dance Hall is an ideal location for large or small celebrations, banquets, seminars and meetings.
The Dance Hall is available for limited hours Monday-Thursday please call for availability. Friday-Sunday hours from 8:00am-1:00am with clean up done by 2:00am. The Dance Hall is not available for rental on January 1, Easter Sunday, July 4, Gurnee Days Weekend, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, December 24, December 25, or December 31.
At the time of reservation, proof or residency must be provided, the Dance Hall application must be filled out in full, and the reservation/damage deposits paid. Reservations may be placed one year prior to the event with a minimum of 60 days in advance. Reservations must be placed in person at either Community Center. No reservations will be taken via phone. Reservations are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon completion of your application, the Rental Coordinator will contact you within 2 business days to discuss your request and answer any questions you may have. Submitting an application is not a confirmation of the rental. Applications are available online and at both community centers.
Prospective renters have two options to view the Dance Hall. You may call for an appointment to view with the Rental Coordinator; however, appointments are not required. Stop in during business hours to check out the hall, kitchen and wet bar. We do ask that if there is a program in session, you come back at a later time.
